Gateway Lodge is located in the centre of Ashbourne, with convenient access by public transport and car.

Ashbourne Gateway Lodge will be part of The Link Centre, a brand new venue for the community, offering space for concerts, exhibitions, conferences & more. Within The Link Centre, Cornerstone Coffee House offers fantastic breakfasts, great barista coffee, delicious cakes and fresh lunches.

By public transport: 

Buses run to Ashbourne from Derby, Uttoxeter, Buxton, Matlock, Leek & Belper. Gateway Lodge is only 4 minutes’ walk from Ashbourne bus station.

The nearest train stations are Derby, Uttoxeter & Buxton, and it’s then easy to catch a bus to Ashbourne. 

The key bus routes are:

Swift, connecting Ashbourne to Derby and Uttoxeter

Services 110 and 111 to Matlock via Wirksworth

Service 108‍‍, connecting Ashbourne to Buxton & Leek

Service 113‍ to Belper

Service 114‍ to Derby via Hulland Ward

Services 441 and 442 to Buxton via Tissington (the 442 also stops in Hartington)

Derbyshire Connect, an on-demand bus service which covers rural Derbyshire – perfect for a day out in the countryside

Moorlands Connect, another on-demand bus service which connects Ashbourne and the Staffordshire Moorlands – great if you want a car-free day trip to Ilam, Dovedale or Alton Towers.

By car: 

There’s a drop-off point immediately outside Gateway Lodge. For parking, we suggest Ashbourne’s Swimming Pool pay and display car park, which is just on the other side of Station Road (50metres walk).

Overnight parking in the Swimming Pool car park is just £1 (6pm-8am). All-day parking will be just £2 from April 2026. 

Vehicle access to the Swimming Pool car park is via Leisure Way – pop DE6 1DR into your satnav and that will get you there. On Google Maps, the car park is labelled as “Leisure Centre Car Park”

Alternatively, there is a free car park at Cokayne Avenue, which is 9 minutes’ walk away.

It’s also possible to buy a 3-day or 7-day parking pass from Derbyshire Dales District Council, which will allow you to park in any of the DDDC car parks, including car parks in Bakewell, Matlock, & Matlock Bath.
